Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic is Wake County’s oldest orthopaedic practice. Our roots in providing orthopaedic medicine to central and eastern North Carolina can be traced back to 1919, when our original founders, Dr. Hugh Thompson, Dr. Walter Hunt, and Dr. Thomas Dameron opened Wake County’s first general surgery practice with a focus in Orthopaedics, and in 1959, these three surgeons named the practice Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic (ROC).
Today, Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic has 22 board certified and board eligible orthopaedic surgeons, with advanced training in their respective subspecialties, which include: foot and ankle surgery, hand, wrist and elbow surgery, neck and spine surgery, hip surgery, shoulder surgery, total joint replacement, and sports medicine. In addition, Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic has primary care sports medicine physicians, a physiatrist and a podiatrist, who specialize in the conservative treatment options for orthopaedic conditions, and 22 advanced practice providers to care for your unique orthopaedic conditions. We have five convenient clinic locations in Raleigh, Cary, Garner, North Raleigh and Holly Springs with on-site services, including: MRI, X-ray, physical therapy, casts, braces, splints, and orthotics, pedorthotics and prosthetics.

In an effort to continuously provide the highest quality and improve our surgical outcomes we administer surveys to our patients of different orthopaedic specialties. The physicians collect survey data on patients up to one year after surgery. In addition, Our physicians have also been committed to supporting orthopaedic education in Wake County since 1988, when the Thomas B. Dameron, Jr. Orthopaedic Education Foundation was founded.
