About Us
The term “Eclectic Medicine” was coined by Dr. Constantine Rafinesque, a physician who lived among the Native Americans in the early 1800s and observed their use of medicinal plants and other traditional therapies. The Eclectic Medical Institute was created in the early 1830’s as an alternative to the conventional medicine of the time. Eclectic physicians adopted in practice whatever modality was beneficial to their patients.
We like this use of the word eclectic when it comes to health and wellbeing. We know from experience that many factors can contribute to ones healing and that what works for one person, may not work for another. In recognition of this, we help our clients find modalities that act synergistically with the nutrition based services we offer. We help people collect all possible avenues of healing and guide them through the maze of their unique health needs.
As holistic nutritionists we believe that optimal nutrition and the proper absorption of nutrients is fundamental to good health and vitality. Our focus is on organic, seasonal, whole foods that are as nutrient dense and toxin free as possible. We also use professional quality supplements to support our clients’ specific biochemical individuality and the body's natural ability to heal. Our aim is to help facilitate a persons healing journey by providing food, nutrition & wellness strategies specific to their body and life.
