About Us
We treat patients with a custom fitted, adjustable, comfortable and portable "mouthpiece" that is worn only while you sleep. The treatment is termed Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT) and works by moving the jaw and tongue forward to create more room for air to flow. This manages your obstructive sleep apnea and can stop snoring. Oral appliances are the preferred treatment to CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure), BiPAP, AutoPAP and surgery. Our treatment is covered by MEDICAL insurances, including all private insurances, Medicare, Kaiser, SCCIPA, PMG, PAMF, and Sutter.
Dr. Shah is one of the few dentists in the entire nation that specializes in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea via oral appliance therapy. As a successful cosmetic dentist, and an associate at two pediatric surgery centers in the Bay Area and Central Valley, he realized the importance of this life-saving treatment after he treated his own family members with oral appliance therapy. Since then, Dr. Shah has established a network of practices that focus solely on treating sleep apnea and snoring. Today, we have 5-offices around the San Francisco Bay Area. Spark Sleep Solutions therefore focuses on the screening, and treatment of snoring and sleep apnea. To make it easier for patients, our office will coordinate with your insurance, sleep physician and primary care physician so you dont have to.
