Scavenger Hunt

HR managers and benefits professionals - don’t have space for a health fair, OR at least don’t think you have enough space for a health fair? Think again - you could use hall ways, private offices, the lunch room, conference rooms, etc. - and end up having an onsite employee health fair at the location you thought was impossible to have a health fair. You can use this to your advantage by having a scavenger hunt at your office.
Say you do have enough space for a health fair (like a gym, theater, giant conference room) - either way, you could pick spots where you can spread your health fair vendors throughout your office building (offices, cubicles, lunch room, in the hallway, and etc.) in order to have a scavenger hunt type of health fair.
Here’s what to do:

Here’s what to do:
- Create a scavenger hunt map to go along with your attendance sheet that HFC provides you.
- Have a central spot for the employee check in and exit; notify employees of this spot a few days before the health fair is set to take place
- On the day of the health fair, as employees check in, give them the map and attendance ticket, then send them on a scavenger hunt.
- Once employees are finished, collect their attendance tickets (or scavenger pass), as these will have initials from vendors and show you that the employees have made their way through the health fair via the scavenger hunt.
Scavenger hunts can be fun and boost morale on the day of your health fair. It might be a good idea if you’re planning to have a scavenger hunt health fair, have it on a Friday. From our experience, offices tend to get some what loud and employees can have a lot of fun, which means they can be distracted and hard to focus when they get back to their desk. A scavenger hunt health fair is a good activity to lead into the weekend.
