Four Seasons - Four Health Fairs

For some of you HR and benefits professionals, you might be pretty seasoned when it comes to employee health fairs (like that play on words? lol), and it might be time to shake things up. Or better yet, time to break things up.

Ever thought of taking your annual health fair and breaking it up into four seasonal health fairs?

It's a great way to focus and hone in on specific topics and goals you want to accomplish.

As of now, you're most likely trying to knock all your initiatives out in one big event, or you do not have room for a big health fair, so you sacrifice certain goals, simply due to not having enough space. You don't have to do this, folks. Use that same space and have four seasonal health fairs. For example, let's say you could only have nine vendors at your health fair. Now, you basically can have thirty-six total vendors if you have four events. With multiple health fairs, minimal space is a non-factor.

So by this time in the post, you might have already started thinking about what direction/topics you want for each of your seasonal health fairs. But you also might have no clue where to start, so below is an example of health fair schedule for the four seasons of the year.

You can use this schedule as a base and add additional vendors to your seasonal health fairs...


Winter / New Year's Health Fair




  • Nutritional/RD Vendors - setting nutritional goals, how to eat healthy on the go, etc.
  • Sleep Center - ensuring a good nights rest, determining if you have sleep issues you never knew you had, etc.
  • Financial Planner - Set goals and create a plan to have a fiscally fit year (huge stress reliever)
  • Flu Shots - These are probably best if your winter health fair is in Nov or Dec...Jan/Feb is most likely too late
  • Physicals - Bring out the local PCP to schedule employee physicals to ensure your employees are ready to rock for the new year


Spring Health Fair




  • Outdoor-activities vendors (biking, hiking, etc.)
  • Different types of weight-loss vendors
  • Gyms & various types of exercise (CrossFit, boxing, etc.)
  • Outdoor events (cornhole, obstacle course, etc.)


Summer Health Fair




  • Dermatology Vendors - skin cancer prevention
  • More fun/interactive vendors
  • Lunch/breakfast provided during this health fair


Fall Health Fair: Aka - Benefits Fair




  • Insurance carriers - Bring out your medical, dental, and vision carriers to answer those difficult questions  
  • Benefits Broker - Your broker can be there to answer questions as well and assist with open enrollment
  • Biometrics time - knock out your biometrics screenings during this time
  • Massage Therapy Vendor - provide free massages to add an interactive vendor to your mostly informational event


The list above is a great starting point for planning your health fairs. You, of course, can completely go another route - won't hurt my feelings :)

Another excellent benefit of having four seasonal health fairs: You have four opportunities / four platforms to accomplish particular goals and implement new wellness initiatives.
