This Lunch & Learn focuses on practical recommendations to relieve stress and boost resilience. It teaches how to embark on a healthy lifestyle, covering the main causes of stress and how to manage each. The session will cover the following areas:• Causes and Consequences of Stress
• Stress Management and Short-Term Relief
• Building up Long-Term Resilience to Stress
BACKGROUND
Work-related stress is the number one trigger for a variety of physical and mental health issues.
For companies, an increasingly stressed workforce has led to higher healthcare costs, loss of productivity and employees regularly calling out sick. Studies suggest that all of this translates into a loss for U.S. employers of between $150 billion to $300 billion annually.
For individuals, stress causes family conflicts, diminished work satisfaction, and even serious physical or mental illnesses.
A healthy lifestyle based on the four pillars Nutrition, Exercise, Mindfulness, and Sleep, increases resilience and combats the negative consequences of stress, benefitting both employer and employee.
