SCREENING DESCRIPTION
Annual physicals allow your provider to review any changes that have occurred over the last year and encourage healthy choices and lifestyle. Also, your provider can help you identify risk factors that could lead to future health problems and offer expert advice on how to manage them. During a physical, your provider will use tools to look in your eyes, ears, nose, and throat. They will also listen to your heart, lungs, and they will touch parts of your body (like your abdomen) to feel for abnormalities. Usually, blood tests and urinalysis test are performed during a physical to screen for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Other tests are also performed during a physical depending on your age and gender.
