A little bit about Catawba Valley's Stroke Center:

While fewer than 20% of major US hospitals are stroke certified, CVMC has been designated a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission. This designation recognizes exceptional efforts to foster better outcomes by reducing death and disability caused by strokes.

CVMC’s Primary Stroke Center offers an array of programs led by a group of medical professionals who specialize in stroke care who collaborate to diagnose, treat and provide early rehabilitation of stroke patients. Patients are cared for in designated stroke units equipped with the latest medical technology for stroke care.
