SCREENING DESCRIPTION

Catawba Valley Medical Center’s Mobile Mammography Unit is a state-of-the-art screening mammography center that can be transported to various locations in the unifour area. The unit visits more than 60 companies, healthcare providers, and organizations in the Catawba Valley providing mammograms to employees and patients. Staffed by certified CVMC medical personnel, the unit features digital mammography, private changing areas, and consultation space. The unit was conceived to provide access to mammograms for women who face obstacles in scheduling on their own, such as long distances from the CVMC Imaging Center or prohibitive work hours.
